Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary

Shennecossett Golf Course proudly maintains its status as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, a designation it first earned in 2005 through the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program for Golf Courses. Under the leadership of Eric Morrison, Manager of Golf Course and Parks Maintenance, Shennecossett continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to environmental stewardship.

One of just 900 courses worldwide with this certification, Shennecossett is recognized for protecting wildlife habitats, conserving natural resources, and preserving the local watershed. The program, endorsed by the USGA, promotes high standards in environmental planning, habitat management, chemical safety, water conservation, and water quality.

“Shennecossett Golf Course is to be commended for preserving the natural heritage of the area by protecting the local watershed and providing a sanctuary for wildlife,” says Tara Donadio, Director of Cooperative Sanctuary Programs at Audubon International.

At Shennecossett, exceptional golf and environmental care go hand in hand.
