Shennecossett Women’s Golf Association (SWGA) is an active league of approximately 60 members who play to both enjoy and compete in the game of golf. SWGA is one of the most welcoming and active women’s leagues in eastern Connecticut and western Rhode Island. Whether you’re a seasoned player or newer to the game, you’ll find a supportive and fun community here.
Tuesdays are the heart of our season! Each week, members participate in a different fun and engaging game format: – 18-Hole Players: Shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. – 9-Hole Players: Tee off beginning at 10:00 a.m. Members may sign up weekly for either 18 or 9 holes. Members with scheduling conflicts may play the weekly game on the weekend prior, provided they play with another SWGA member. Weekend tee times are arranged individually.

Season Begins: Tuesday, May 5, 2026 Opening Day: Tuesday, May 19, 2026 12:00 p.m. Fun Golf game followed by dinner.

Updated annually, the 2026 Shennecossett Women’s Golf Association Handbook provides much operational information about the league including procedures, regulations, and key USGA Rules of Golf. The SWGA Bylaws govern league policies and organization. (Bylaws last updated and approved in 2025)
For the past four years, Shennecossett Golf Course has proudly celebrated Women’s Golf Month, encouraging more women to experience the game. During June, enjoy a special rate with cart: – Monday–Thursday (all day) – Friday–Sunday after 12:00 p.m. This initiative has helped grow participation and foster a welcoming golf community. Whether you’re an experienced golfer or picking up a club for the first time — we invite you to join us on the course!
